Organisers of the Racing Hondas Championship are excited to announce that having initiated a competitor-led sponsorship programme supported by Tegiwa Imports in November, a field of at least 34 cars will race in all 16 rounds of the 2024 season.
This ground-breaking initiative invited competitors to apply for a place on the grid, with 34 (the maximum track capacity for three of the circuits visited) of the applicants seeing their season’s entry fees funded by Tegiwa.
Such was the massive appeal and unmitigated success of the offer, the target figure of 34 was reached within two hours of the announcement being made!
Over the past few weeks, the team at Tegiwa has carefully considered and assessed each application and, having confirmed the drivers who can commit to a full season, selected 34 that will make up the Racing Hondas Championship grid in 2024.
The field features a variety of Honda models, split into the championship’s three clearly defined classes:
- Class A: for cars with a power-to weight ratio of 240 bhp/ton
- Class B: for cars with a power-to-weight ratio of up to 195 bhp/ton
- Class C: for cars with a power-to-weight ratio of up to 176 bhp/ton
An extensive list of reserves has also been compiled. These drivers will be invited to compete at circuits where additional track capacity allows, or in the event that one of the 34 selected competitors is unable to take part.
The confirmed entry list will be announced on Thursday 11th January at the forthcoming Autosport Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
