Lexie Barwell, our Social Media Community Manager, shares how the Racing Hondas Championship’s online presence has risen in just a few months…
A minimum entry of 34 Racing Hondas per event, action-packed racing between different models of Hondas, an accessible paddock for fans, modified car club meets and large crowds – what’s not to like?
The Racing Hondas Championship has taken UK motorsport by storm in 2024 and it’s Lexie’s job to bring the fun to a growing fanbase across the championship’s three social media platforms – Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
Over to Lexie…
“It’s clear that our social media presence has grown significantly since the start of the year and we are making ourselves more known amongst the online community of motorsport fans.
“When I started my new role in April, our Instagram account was only 1,300 followers. Now, in just four months, we have grown to over 1,600 followers – a clear sign that our efforts are paying off.
“Our Instagram account has also seen amazing engagement, with our top performing post – a video showcasing why we love racing – surpassing an impressive 25.4K views.
“One of the steps I took to get the word out about the Racing Hondas Championship was creating a brand new TikTok account because of its highly engaged audience. In this short time, we have gained over 770 followers and our videos are really making an impact.
“Our top performing TikTok’s have achieved 15.6K and 10.2K views, with other posts averaging a reach between 3,000 and 6,000 views.
“Although Facebook is our smallest platform, we still maintain the account as we recognise it appeals to an older generation who use it as a valuable source of information about the championship.
“In just one month, our social media reach has expanded over 16,000 accounts. This growth makes me very proud and excited for what’s ahead.
“But the growth in numbers on social media is more than just statistics – it highlights the fun community of people involved in the championship.
“Drivers have been getting involved by sharing on-board race footage and getting stuck in with all the fun content, too, such as football, National Motorsport Week and interviews.
“This participation has made our channels more engaging and highlights what makes the Racing Hondas Championship special. We intend to expand this aspect even more ensuring that all the different areas of a race weekend get their chance to shine!
“With just three more tracks to visit this year, I look forward to getting even more content which can be used to continue our steady growth and engage with our fans throughout the rest of the season.”
