Ryan Cunningham pipped Dan Brown by just 0.076s to win a fun simulator challenge between the Club Time Attack championships’ 2024 title winners.
Cunningham, Brown and Alfie Jeakins – winners of class C, A and B in Racing Hondas this year – all headed to international GT racing team JRM’s premises in Daventry for the challenge, held just prior to the Club Time Attack awards ceremony.
Their challenge was to lap the Brands Hatch Indy circuit as fast as possible in a Honda TCR machine.
Cunningham, also this year’s Racing Hondas Overall Champion, set a best time of 48.776 seconds.
Brown, the overall championship runner-up, almost equalled the time with a lap in 48.852.
Jeakins stopped the clock on 49.117s to make it a Racing Hondas top three lock out – the next fastest driver was the Time Attack UK Pocket Rocket champion Andrew Kime on 49.845s.
Cunningham’s prize for topping the timesheets is a voucher for £1,500 to spend with Racing Hondas title sponsor Tegiwa.
“To beat a driver of Dan’s quality feels almost as good as winning the Racing Hondas title outright,” joked Cunningham (pictured above).
“It’s a fun way for the championship to let the drivers let their hair down.
“The £1,500 prize with Tegiwa is very welcome and will go nicely towards my move up to Class B in 2025.”
